Téléphérique Grenoble-Bastille (cable car)
The Grenoble-Bastille aerial cableway, an emblematic tourist attraction in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is one of the world's first urban cableways, after Rio de Janeiro and Cape Town! Built in 1934, it provides rapid access from the city centre to La Bastille: a military fort built in the 19th century on a hill that also gives it its name, overlooking the city of Grenoble.
