Château de Sassenage
Built between 1662 and 1669, Château de Sassenage was the last residence occupied by the Bérenger-Sassenage family. A magnificent example of classical architecture, it bears witness to the art of living in the 17th and 18th centuries. The kitchen, lounges, ceremonial and private flats still house the remarkable family furniture. The Anglo-Chinese garden and the romantic park are designed as a landscaped arboretum. Spread over 8 hectares enclosed by walls, they are ideal for daydreaming and strolling. Owned by the Fondation de France since 1971, the estate has been listed as a Historic Monument for 80 years.
