The castle of Sassenage
Discover the castle of Sassenage and its decorations majestic by the mean guided tour. Built between 1662 and 1669, the Château de Sassenage is the last residence occupied by the Bérenger-Sassenage family. A magnificent example of classical architecture, it bears witness to the art of living in the 17th and 18th centuries. The kitchen, living rooms, ceremonial and private apartments still house the remarkable family furniture. The Anglo-Chinese garden and the romantic park are designed as a landscaped arboretum. They are spread over 8 hectares enclosed by walls and are conducive to daydreaming and walks. Property of the Fondation de France since 1971, the complex has been listed as a Historic Monument for 80 years.
